Sizing Vinyl Letters
Our Guide To Sizing Vinyl Letters And Vinyl Lettering Design.
When it comes to sizing vinyl letters, first measure the available area to ascertain your sign size.
Decide on the background colour, and choose contrasting colours for the text and graphics.
It is always advisable to draw a rough sketch setting out a layout that gives you maximum size lettering for clarity.
A good rule of thumb to use is the height of the letter multiplied by the amount of letters in the line. This will be approximately equal to the length of the line. Of course this varies, depending on the font used. But don’t worry, when ordering you are given the opportunity to give overall sign dimension. Therefore, if you have ordered too big we will scale or condense back automatically.
If only lettering is required, Nylon reinforced pvc material is recommended. In addition, we can supply ready-made up banners with eyelets in a variety of sizes and colours. Do not forget to tick banner box when ordering as a different type of self adhesive vinyl is used.(softer and more flexible)
Graphics and Logo’s
We can reproduce any graphic or logo to your specified size providing you send us by e-mail or post suitable artwork. There will be a one off setup charge for this, depending on the quality of artwork and the complexity of the design. We will quote you separately for this on receipt of artwork. Lettering Direct will keep your design on file and give you a file number that you can quote for future reordering, thus avoiding this charge again.
